Transformational. Connectivity. Awareness.
What advice that you would you give to current Leadership Charlotte participants?
Keep an open mind and make the most of the experience. There is more to Leadership Charlotte than just networking.
What’s a lesson that you learned through LC that has stuck with you and why?
My Leadership Charlotte experience increased my awareness of community needs. I was not surprised by the coexistence of poverty and prosperity. My Leadership Charlotte experience helped me appreciate initiatives in place and the giving nature of this community.
Greatest personal accomplishment and why:
Being part of a broad coalition to put Charlotte on the tourism map. Since JWU’s arrival in Charlotte 15 years ago, the hospitality industry has experienced dramatic growth. Most people expected the restaurant scene to improve; it has, but the availability of work ready talent has supported ongoing hotel growth, expansion of sports related events and now a burgeoning craft brewing and distilling movement.
