What’s your best advice for current Leadership Charlotte participants about making the most of the experience?
Invest in getting to know the people in your class – you will be surprised how many times your paths will cross in the future, and those strong relationships will matter.
What’s one lesson or moment from your Leadership Charlotte experience that sticks with you today, and why?
The police ride along – my officer rolled up on a stolen vehicle and told me to duck down in the seat as he jumped out – exciting and terrifying.
In what ways do you stay engaged in the Charlotte community, and how could fellow alumni join you?
I currently serve as the President & CEO of Habitat Charlotte Region – we are constantly looking for individuals to partner with us as builders, volunteers, donors or advocates.
What’s your favorite way to recharge or connect with Charlotte on the weekend?
On Saturday mornings I walk over to the farmers market at Atherton, walk past all the booths to look and then walk around again to purchase. It’s a good way to start the weekend!
Shout out a local nonprofit or initiative making a difference — what do they do, and why does their mission speak to you?
Habitat Charlotte Region – working to provide homeownership solutions to hard working members of our community locked out of purchasing a home due to current housing costs.
What does “leading for a better Charlotte” mean to you?
Staying future focused, anticipating needs and trends to try and stay ahead of growth the region is and will continue to experience.

We utilize TRACTION: Get a Grip on your Business by Geno Wickman to focus our business operations and planning.
