What advice would you give to current Leadership Charlotte participants?
Stay the course. The program can be challenging, demanding, long, but you will learn a lot, experience a lot and meet amazing people with whom you will make lifelong connections.
What lesson from Leadership Charlotte has stuck with you?
The importance of “true” relationships, even in fostering business networking. Also, Charlotte is an excellent city with remarkable potential.
Favorite nonprofit or community organization in Charlotte and why:
100 Black men of Greater Charlotte because they directly impact boys by providing mentoring and programming to enhance their lives.
What do you hope to be doing differently in five years?
Working more efficiently but not as hard, either in a still growing law practice or perhaps serving the citizens of Mecklenburg County in a judicial or political capacity.
How has your life after Leadership Charlotte surprised you and why?
I have definitely been more involved in civic activities and it spawned me being accepted in two other leadership programs–Bar Leadership Institute and The Institute for Political Leadership (IOPL).
