Exciting Partnership with The Sparks Group

We are thrilled to announce a special collaboration with The Sparks Group, led by Jessica Bronzert (LC46). This was a one-time opportunity to access three hours of complimentary coaching, designed exclusively for our recent Class 46 graduates during Year 2.

Coaching is a powerful tool for self-reflection, growth, and forward progress in your leadership journey. Here to share their perspective on their experiences are Shenae Dure (LC46) and Rachel Roe (LC46).
  1. What motivated you to take advantage of the coaching opportunity offered through Leadership Charlotte and Sparks Group? I was entering a major transition point in my life, and the coaching offer from Sparks Group was right on time. I was looking for a coach that could support me in finding greater meaning, clarifying what I want in my next chapter and charting the way forward.
  2. How has the coaching experience influenced your personal or professional development? My coach helped me to clarify my values and what brings me fulfillment, personally and professionally. I successfully shifted my focus from what I should be doing, to what gives me a sense of purpose and excitement. This process of self-reflection gave me a framework to strategically plan the next steps in my life and career.
  3. In what ways has this coaching experience shaped your perspective on leadership and your role as a leader within the Charlotte community? Leadership, without passion and purpose, is just management. My purpose in Charlotte is to empower and serve my neighbors, contributing my skills where they are most needed to improve the lives for everyone that calls this city “home.”
  1. What motivated you to take advantage of the coaching opportunity offered through Leadership Charlotte and Sparks Group? I have used executive coaches in the past and what I love about them is they hold up a mirror to you and what you are trying to achieve. You can speak to them openly, and honestly with no filter about where you are at professionally and where you want to go.
  2. Can you share a specific example of how the coaching helped you overcome a challenge or achieve a goal? Coaching helped me say, “Yes” to opportunities that make sense for where I want to go professionally, and say, “No” to opportunities that make no sense for where I want to go professionally.
  3. In what ways has this coaching experience shaped your perspective on leadership and your role as a leader within the Charlotte community? This coaching opportunity helped me embrace leading through the unknown. Being a great listener is what will continue to allow me to build trust within the Charlotte community and earn the trust of those who engage with me.
