Jim Rogers, Class 1 (June 2011)

Our alumni are making Charlotte a stronger community through their leadership and community engagement.  Jim Rogers, Class 1, exemplifies the spirit and servant leadership that Leadership Charlotte nurtures.

Jim is co-founder and Senior Vice President with Flagship Capital Partners.  He has served as President of the Board of Trustees for:  Leadership Charlotte, American Lung Association, the Charlotte Pops Orchestra, UNC Charlotte Athletic Foundation, and as Chairman of the Childress Klein YMCA.

Jim has served on the boards of:  WTVI Channel 42, The Arts and Science Council, Hospice and Palliative Care Charlotte Region, Spirit Square Center for the Arts, North Carolina Dance Theatre, Charlotte Repertory Theatre, Lynwood Foundation, the American Heart Association, and Goodwill Industries of the Southern Piedmont.

Jim received the Shelly R. Lyons Circle of Excellence Award from Leadership Charlotte in 1985.  He was awarded the YMCA George Williams Lifetime Achievement Award in 1997, and received the Distinguished Leadership Award from the National Association for Community Leadership in 2000.

Jim has continued to be active with Leadership Charlotte as a member of the Former Board Presidents group, and he attends many Leadership Charlotte events as a proud member of Class 1.  His sound advice and decades of wisdom continue to serve Leadership Charlotte well.
